What Erova is

Erova is for people who want to meet someone. It is not a hookup app. Adults hold different intentions and there is nothing wrong with that — say what yours is on your profile, and let other people say theirs. Being honest about what you are looking for is the most useful thing you can do here, for yourself and for everyone you talk to.

You have to be 18 or older to be here. That is a hard limit, not a preference.

What we expect

Be one real person, and be the person in your photographs.

Talk to people the way you would want to be talked to. Interest is welcome. Pressure is not. If someone does not reply, unmatches, or asks you to stop, that is an answer — treat it as one.

Not allowed

  • Presenting yourself as someone you are not, using another person's pictures, or running an account on someone else's behalf
  • Sending sexual content to someone who has not asked for it
  • Sharing intimate images of another person, which is something we act on immediately
  • Using Erova to sell, recruit, promote, solicit money, or run a scheme of any kind
  • Sharing what belongs to someone else: their address, workplace, phone number, photographs, or anything else about them that is not yours to give out

If you are here to extract something from people rather than to meet them, this is not the product for you.

Reporting and blocking

You can report a profile or a conversation from the profile and conversation screens. The categories are:

  • A fake profile, or impersonation
  • Harassment
  • Inappropriate or sexual content
  • A user who may be under 18
  • Scams or fraud
  • Threats or violence
  • Non-consensual intimate imagery
  • Spam or abusive behaviour
  • A privacy or location concern
  • Anything else, which you can describe in your own words

You can also block someone at any time, for any reason, without telling us why.

How moderation works

Reports are read by trained human moderators. Automated systems help us find and sort obvious problems, but a person makes every decision that carries a consequence — software does not decide on its own to restrict, suspend, or remove an account.

Reports about someone who may be under 18, about threats or violence, and about non-consensual intimate imagery are escalated ahead of the ordinary queue.

When someone breaks these guidelines we ordinarily work up a ladder:

  • A warning
  • A temporary restriction on particular features
  • A temporary suspension
  • A permanent ban

Most situations never get past the first step.

Some things skip the ladder and can lead to immediate suspension or permanent removal:

  • Credible threats of violence
  • Serious scams or fraud
  • Non-consensual intimate imagery
  • The exploitation of minors
  • Severe harassment
  • Serious impersonation
  • Other severe safety violations

Every moderation decision and enforcement action is written to an audit log.

Appeals

If you think we got it wrong, you can appeal, and an authorised human moderator or escalation owner will review it.

Staying safe on dates

Erova can moderate what happens on Erova. It cannot supervise a date, confirm what someone tells you offline, or keep you safe somewhere we are not.

  • Meet in a public place the first time
  • Tell someone where you are going, and share a date plan straight from your own device with a person you trust
  • Leave whenever you want to, and never feel you owe anyone an explanation

A date plan you share stays between you and the person you send it to. We do not store their details, and there is no live location sharing with a match.

Changes to these guidelines

These guidelines will change. When they do, the version number and the date it took effect are shown at the top of this page, so you can always see which one is in force.
